The year 2019 has been full of stories of how God has used members of Charis Fellowship churches to further the gospel. On this Giving Tuesday, we are sharing two summaries of stories from this newsletter from the last few months. As you look back on what God has done through churches in the Charis Fellowship, would you consider contributing to GraceConnect? Your financial support helps to nurture Great Commission teamwork in the Charis Fellowship through the communications platforms of GraceConnect.

“It’s a healing ministry. Jesus went around healing people and proclaiming the good news,” says Jim Cabush, the family pastor at Valley Grace Church in Hagerstown, Md. (Daniel Pritchett, pastor). Jim is referring to the free Narcan training that was held at the church.
The city of Hagerstown is no stranger to the overarching opioid epidemic that the county has been facing for several years. “Everyone is affected by the problem, specifically the use of prescription drugs that are in our own medicine cabinets,” says Jim.
“Our church has been touched by people who have experienced overdoses,” says Peggy Jones, a congregation member, “If you talk to anybody in Hagerstown, you would find out they know someone who has had something like this happen to them.”
As Valley Grace saw the need for training in Hagerstown, they requested help with the training from their local department of health.
“It says to the community that we care,” says Jim, “Now people know there is a place where they can go and talk, a place that cares and can provide hope.”
[Connect:] How can your congregation be proactive in the opioid crisis? Pray about contacting your department of health for assistance with hosting a Narcan training at your church. Send Jim an encouraging note here.

[Give:] There are several ways to support GraceConnect.
Shop online and make purchases through AmazonSmile. Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to GraceConnect.
Give through the GraceConnect Facebook page. On GivingTuesday Dec. 3, Facebook will match a total of $7 million in donations first-come, first-served basis.
Your gift helps provide the platforms to share the stories of what God is doing through the people and congregations of the Charis Fellowship.
[Pray:] Praying for GraceConnect is another way you can contribute to our mission. Consider adding GraceConnect to your prayer list this week! Click here if you’d like to receive prayer requests from GraceConnect.
