Have you read the whole Bible, cover to cover? How about in the span of just 12 months? Since 2019, attenders of Grace Fellowship of Kent, Wash., have been participating in an on-going reading program through Tyndale’s One Year Bible to read through the entire Bible in 365 days.
The church offers free copies of the One Year Bible to those who want to participate. Attenders are encouraged to give the Bible to friends and family as an invitation to join them in reading through the Scriptures.
Each Sunday morning at Grace Fellowship, lay member Mark Kirchner or elder Kristopher Galvin highlights that week’s passages from the podium and encourages participants to read their Bible and share it with others.
Tyndale, the publishing house who produced the One Year Bible, highlighted Grace Fellowship’s efforts in a blog post. The article begins with an overview of the essential need to be in the Word daily and goes on to utilize excerpts from the church’s website to explain why the elders at Grace Fellowship prioritize this reading plan:
“The Bible provides believers in Jesus with tools to live a life that is consistent with our faith and to share the Good News of Jesus with others. The only way to realize those blessings is to read it, meditate upon it, and pray about it. These are some of the reasons that the folks at Grace Fellowship of Kent are reading through the whole Bible in one year.”
Kristopher Galvin was excited to share about their efforts. He said, “We hope it encourages other churches to conduct One Year Bible reading programs.”
