On Wednesday, June 14, Grace Seminary and CE National will host Dr. Don Sunukjian, professor at Talbot Seminary, La Mirada, California, during the next Pastorpedia Live event at the Russell Center.
(See a clip from the last time Dr. Sunukjian spoke during Pastorpedia Live.)
Dr. Sunukjian taught preaching for 10 years at Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. He also served as pastor of churches in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Austin, Texas, before coming to Talbot Seminary. With doctorates in both theology (Dallas Seminary) and communications (UCLA), he brings both experience and scholarship to his classroom.
Dr. Sunukjian will be speaking on “Increasing Relevancy in Your Preaching” CE National’s Russell Center (1003 Presidential Dr., Winona Lake, Indiana). He will share how to connect biblical knowledge to the concrete circumstance of contemporary life; he will share that “illustrations,” though interesting, usually fall short of actually applying truth to real-life situations. He will also explain and illustrate four specific ways to increase relevancy in preaching. Dr. Sunukjian will provide the group with six pages of notes and a sample sermon.
Dr. Sunukjian has written for biblical commentaries and preaching books. He has authored, Invitation to Biblical Preaching, and three volumes of biblical exposition covering Philippians, James, and the life of Jacob.
He and his wife, Nell, enjoy taking leisurely walks on the piers of California and enjoy their growing family of 5 children and 18 grandchildren.
Join us on June 14 for an exciting and challenging day at Pastorpedia Live. Pastor Knute Larson will be our emcee. He will do a brief interview of Dr. Sunukjian at the beginning of the day and will also present his “From the Pastor’s View” after lunch.
Cost is $33 per person and for every two that come together, a third can come for free. Lunch is included and we will be done by 3 PM. Registration is open at www.cenational.org/PL. If you have questions, please call Lois at CE National at 574.267.6622.
