The Rev. Roy F. Walker, father of retired Grace Brethren missionary Dr. William Walker, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Walker, 98, had been living at Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana.
Roy Walker’s wife, Jeanette, preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by three sons, including Dr. William Walker of Winona Lake, who served many years in the Central African Republic as a missionary doctor with Grace Brethren International missions (GBIM). Dr. William Walker’s daughter, Tina, is currently serving in the CAR with GBIM.
Two other sons survive: Dr. Robert Walker of Spokane, Washington, and Eugene Walker of Columbia City, Indiana. Also one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Wilgus of Indio, California; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a brother.
A graveside services was held Tuesday, April 3, at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana, with Grace Village chaplain Glen Byers officiating.
