Pastors and leaders from the eastern U.S. and Canada are gathered this week at Ocean City, Md., for the East Focus Retreat.
The retreat provides an opportunity for 48 hours of rest, relaxation, fellowship, and time to connect with one another over topics related to ministry and the Charis Fellowship.
Sessions are being led by Phil Sparling, the executive director of the Charis Fellowship, who also serves as pastor of Grace Community Church, Auburn, Calif. The theme of the two days is God’s Word.
Pastor Bavon Jonas Aladoum, the new executive secretary of the Charis Alliance of Central Africa, and Dr. Francois Ngoumape, dean of the School of Theology in Bangui, Central African Republic, are participating in the retreat. They are sharing about their ministries in the C.A.R. and providing an update on the political situation.
Participants are staying that the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Ocean City while sessions are held nearby at First Presbyterian Church in Ocean City.
The retreat continues through Wednesday morning.
