Ned Denlinger of the Mason Family of Grace in Mason, Ohio, coordinates communication for the Tri-State District and sent this report today giving an update on the surgery of Elizabeth Pierce, daughter-in-law of pastor Daniel Pierce of the Greenville, Ohio, Grace Brethren Church:
Elizabeth Pierce underwent surgery this morning (Monday, April 30) to remove a lemon-sized tumor from the left side of her frontal lobe. She was in surgery for just over two hours, and the surgeon here at Duke Medical Center was pleased with the procedure.
Probably more important than the removal of the mass, is the lab work on determining what the mass is. One surgeon on the team “speculated” that it was a low-grade tumor, which could be good news.
The next waiting game is to receive the pathology report on the tumor, which is supposed to be on Thursday. Any future treatment or prognosis would be determined at that time.
The Pierces’ support group was large enough that the waiting room wouldn’t suffice. We took over about half of the lobby area outside the elevators. Ladies from Greenville Grace were at Teressa’s mom’s, helping Teressa care for four-week old Will.
Pastors Danny Wright and Jason Bradshaw also from Greenville Grace were here to support their pastor. Many were also there from both Dan and Elizabeth’s respective sides of the family from all over the country.
Please continue to pray for God’s grace in these families’ lives, and for Dan, Elizabeth and Will. We are asking God for a encouraging report on Thursday, but most importantly that His will be accomplished in Elizabeth’s life.
