Marianne Elsie Smitley, 84, Palmyra, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at her residence. She was the wife of Rev. Lester O. Smitley.
She was born on December 19, 1927, a daughter of the late William Virgil and Mary Esteb Cable Bingaman. She was a pastor’s wife, retired school teacher having taught in several school districts and had been a florist in the Hatboro, PA area. She was the best Mom ever.
She is survived in addition to her husband by children, Marianne F., wife of Mark Fortney, Middletown; Lawrence J., husband of Dorothy E. Smitley, Greenville, SC; Dawn E, Smitley, Palmyra; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Elizabeth Miller, brothers Harold LaVerne and James Kenneth Bingaman.
