The staff at Encompass World Partners in Atlanta, Ga., joined to produce a carnival last Saturday for children in an apartment complex near their headquarters. Jesús Muñoz, Hispanic church planter in the area, reports that 61 children and 40 adults participated. Christa Brown, who serves on the Atlanta Encompass team reports:
Heavy thunderstorms had been on the horizon for days and the dark clouds that hung overhead looked foreboding but God faithfully answered the prayers of many saints and held back the raindrops for our outreach event last Saturday.
Encompass Team Atlanta hosted a kids’ carnival in the green space of a Hispanic apartment complex we’ve been trying to reach. Weeks of planning and hours of preparation went in to the day and we were so thankful to see how God moved to bring people. In the end, we counted 61 children, 40 adults, and 20 Encompass team members or friends who took part in the events of the day.
Families enjoyed playing lawn games, watching puppet shows, eating good food, and winning prizes in a raffle. There are three families living in this apartment complex who have already been a part of an evangelistic Bible study. All three families participated in helping pull of the events of last Saturday and we pray more of the contacts we made there will begin to join us.
We welcome your partnership in praying with us for each of the families we had the opportunity to meet as we continue following up with them, building relationships and spreading the Good News of Jesus’ love. By the way, it started raining a couple hours after the carnival ended and rained the next three days. God is good!
