The staff at Encompass World Partners is grateful for the many positive responses, conversations, and interest in continuing to learn together after the Redeeming Social Distance workshop on July 28. They are planning for an hour and a half long meeting on the evening of September 8 as a next step in the discussion. (Miss the workshop? Click here to watch the replay.)
The September 8 event will look at how a segregated Church in America doesn’t help address the racialized nature of society. Below are a variety of resources that touch on this topic. We are not asking that you come to the meeting having accessed all of these, but it would be good if you could pick at least one of them to prepare to talk more about.
- Book: Divided by Faith by Emerson and Smith is available on Kindle and it’s free on Audible.
- Article: “Black Practicing Christians Are Twice as Likely as Their White Peers to See a Race Problem.” Barna Group
- Video: Racism and Corporate Evil: A White Guys Perspective by Tim Keller
- Podcast: United? we pray: 20 Years Later, Why are Evangelicals (Still) Divided by Faith? w/Michael Emerson
