Daniel E. Wonderly, who taught biology at Grace College in the middle 1960s and 1970s, died December 3 in Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Maryland, according to today’s Warsaw Times-Union newspaper.
Wonderly, 82, is survived by his wife, Edna; a daughter, Eunice Stackhouse of Montreat, NC; a son, Philip, of Warsaw, IN; a grandson and a great-granddaughter. Services were at 2 p.m. today in Oakland, Maryland.

Daniel E. Wonderly, 82, Oakland, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born April 21, 1922, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Earl and Gustava (Moomaw) Wonderly. He was also preceded in death by one brother, William Wonderly.
He was a 1940 graduate of Oakland High School and attended the Southeastern Bible Institute, Birmingham, Ala., for two years, before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in Europe and Japan during World War II.
After the war, he earned a bachelor of arts in anthropology at Wheaton College, Ill., a bachelor of divinity and a master of theology at Central Baptist Seminary, Kansas City, Kan. Later he earned a master of science in biology at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. After seminary training, he pastored in small churches in rural Missouri before teaching in the Christian colleges of Southeastern Bible College, formerly S.B. Institute, Wingate College, Wingate, N.C., and Grace College, Winona Lake, Ind.
He published two books on geology, as well as various reports and articles. He was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church, Mtn. Lake Park, the American Scientific Affiliation, the Affiliation of Christian Geologists, the Interdisciplinary Biblical Research Institute, the Geological Society of America, and AARP.
Surviving are his wife, Edna (Giese) Wonderly; one daughter, Eunice Stackhouse, Black Mountain, N.C.; one son, Philip Wonderly, Warsaw, Ind.; one brother, Carl Wonderly, Kansas City; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland.
A service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Faith Evangelical Free Church, with the Rev. David Martin officiating.
Interment was in the Wonderly Cemetery.
