Church members perform random acts of kindness
FREMONT – Residents across the county are receiving early Christmas presents this year, and they are getting them from people they don’t even know.
Hundreds of members of Grace Community Church are participating in the church’s You’ve Been Gifted project, which encourages members to do random acts of kindness for strangers.
Those acts of kindness came in many forms. One person bought a single mother her family’s first TV; one couple paid for a pack of gum at a gas station with a $50 bill and told the clerk to keep the change; a group of ladies put together gift bags for residents of the Liberty Center.
“I had heard of another church doing it, and I wanted to impact our community with thousands of acts of generosity,” Pastor Kevin Pinkerton said.
