Concert, horses big draw at fair
FREMONT- As the skies became cloudy over the Sandusky County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, Sheila Bowen took her horse, Willie, for a walk.
The Sandusky County Fair entered its second day with a full slate of activities, kids and their parents enjoying rides and fair food along the midway and an evening Christian rock concert scheduled for performers from Grace Community Church. …
Billy Lee, the fair’s co-chairman of advertising and marketing, said the fair had seen a good turnout on its first night with its Fremont Speedway sprint car races and powderpuff trucks.
Around 4:30 p.m., Lee said he hoped the rain would hold off Wednesday night for the scheduled Grace Community Church concert.
“I think we’ll have a bigger crowd than last year,” Lee said.
Sitting in front of the Sandusky County Commissioners’ tent, county Commissioner Charles Schwochow said he had helped set up for the Grace Community Church concert. …
