The new sheriff in Yakima County, Wash., Brian Winter, has Grace Brethren connections. He is the son of Chuck and Marilyn Winter and also attended Grace College. Chuck pastored the Grace Brethren Church in Harrah, Wash., for 25 years.
The new sheriff garnered almost 60 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s election, according to the Yakima Herald Republic. Brian has 23 years of experience as a sheriff’s deputy and is a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. For more information, see Winter wins sheriff’s race.
