Three members of Grace College’s baseball team received mention on the All-Crossroads League Team.
Austin Baker, Xavier Harris and Gavin Bussard were given honorable mention status to the All-League Team for their performance during the 2017 campaign.
Harris was Grace’s most dangerous hitter, leading Grace’s team in batting average (.285), runs (34), home runs (11) and slugging percentage (.556). His 11 home runs this season set a program record for the Lancers and ranked fourth in the league.
Baker, who was the only player to start in all 47 games this year for Grace, enjoyed a breakout season at the plate. He batted .277 this year with a team-leading 46 hits and 32 RBIs. The junior had 20 extra-base hits, including 13 doubles, 1 triple and 5 home runs.
Bussard proved to be a steady starter in his freshman season. The shortstop finished the year with a .278 average, pounding out 40 hits in 44 games. He produced 9 doubles, 4 homers and 7 stolen bases.
The Lancers this year, under interim coach Cam Screeton, won the team’s third-most victories in the past 15 years.
