AMANDA ANSCHUTZ | TWENTY UNDER 40!
39, Co-founder/President, Compassion Delivered
What is the best career advice you’ve ever been given?
“Plan B and a good sense of humor.” This advice was given to me when I was still in high school, getting ready to start my first job at Freda’s Hallmark in Hartville. My mom, an educator for over 50 years, told me this as a reminder that there will be days I will want to throw in the towel and walk away, but those are the days that I need in my life to make me a better person and inspire me to press on. I still use this phrase today—it has reminded me to not always take certain things in my career so seriously.
What advice would you give the younger generation when it comes to advancing in their careers or strengthening Stark County?
Finish. Finish everything that you’ve been given. Don’t let yourself be complacent and unwilling to learn. Once you stop, it will be so much harder to start again. If you surround yourself with individuals who will encourage, stretch and guide you, then you will be grateful for their influence.
“ ‘Compassion Delivered.’ These two words are not just the name of Amanda’s purpose-driven new business in Stark County. Amanda personifies compassion delivered in everything that she undertakes. It was Amanda’s ability to convey her passion and compassion regarding the safety and security of children that allowed her to build the strongest relationships (and successful sales programs) with school administrators throughout the U.S. with my company.” -Bill Cushwa
