A continuing look at the history of Winona Lake, Ind., and the places of Grace College and the Brethren movement in that history, will be the topic of the next Winona Lake History Heritage Forum, on Tuesday, September 10 in Westminster Hall in Winona Lake, Ind. Sponsored by the history department of Grace College, the 7 p.m. event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Mark Norris will present “An Expanding Community of Grace: Fostering Local and Regional Relationships.” Dr. Jim Swanson’s topic will be “In Loco Parentis to Collaborative Learning: Tracing the Development of Student Affairs Through the Pages of the Sounding Board.” Dr. Terry White, principal author of Winona at 100, the centennial history of Winona Lake, will present “Brethren Roots in Winona Lake.”
Dr. Christy Hill of the seminary faculty will be the moderator. Local photographer Al Disbro will have a display of historic photographs. Three papers will be presented, and comments in response will be by historian Perry Bush of Bluffton University.
