Daniel Rodriquez
Grace College is hosting motivational speaker, Daniel Rodriguez, on campus today.
Rodriguez has a tremendous story, journeying from a decorated war veteran to a college football standout at Clemson University. He was profiled for Veteran’s Day on ESPN’s College Gameday in 2014 by Tom Rinaldi, and his story is currently being produced into a feature film. His autobiography is titled “RISE.”
He spoke at Grace’s Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and will also speak from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Both sessions are free to the public.
Rodriguez served approximately 18 months in Iraq and one year in Afghanistan. He achieved the military rank of Sergeant and was involved in one of the most violent battles in the war. He was given the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal With Valor Device for his heroism at the Battle of Kamdesh.
