Grace College, Winona Lake, Ind., welcomed a record number of new students for fall 2007, with 343 new full-time students enrolled for the fall semester. The previous high was 304 in fall 2006.
The large new class brings Grace College’s residential campus to capacity for the new academic year. Geographically, the new class represents 25 states and six countries. Academically, the new class includes 14 valedictorians and six salutatorians. The average high school grade point average (GPA) is 3.54 and average ACT composite is 24.4 (SAT 1,130 math and reading equivalent).
For the 2007-08 academic year, the Admissions Office reported a 39-percent increase in applications for admission (1,734), a 24 percent increase in the number of admitted applicants (991), and a 13 percent increase in new student enrollment.
Total enrollment on the Grace campus this fall is 1,406, including 1,228 undergraduates, 54 graduate, and 124 seminary students.
In addition, the college has been named to the top tier of the Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the Midwest region by U.S. News and World Report.
