Grace College’s sports information office was honored at the annual NAIA-SIDA (NAIA Sports Information Directors Association) Convention with the prestigious Gary Spitler Award for excellence.
The Spitler award is the NAIA-SIDA’s top honor, given annually to the department with the most accumulated points in the publication contests.
The Lancers finished in the top 10 of 10 separate contests, including a pair of first-place awards. Grace’s athletic website (gclancers.com) was named the NAIA’s No. 1 website for the second time in three years (2017, 2019). The website is the only one in the nation to be ranked in the top five for three consecutive years.
A feature story entitled “Facing the Finish Line,” written by Assistant AD/SID Josh Neuhart, was also voted as the best in the nation.
Additionally, the Lancers had three awards from CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) for motion graphic and infographic design work.
“Josh’s professionalism and attention to detail set a high standard of excellence on our campus,” said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. “Our athletes, coaches, alumni and fanbase all benefit from his leadership in event coverage throughout the year.”
