Grace College Homecoming will take place Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5, 2019. The weekend is designed for alumni, students and families to reconnect with friends, tour campus, enjoy entertainment, competition and more. “We have a lot of events that make this year’s Homecoming unique,” said Denny Duncan, director of alumni engagement at Grace College. “From celebrating Coach Kessler, to Morgan Library’s 50th Anniversary, and honoring alumni from the Seminary, it will be a weekend with something for all alumni, family, and friends to enjoy.”
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, in the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center (MOCC), 610 Wooster Rd., Winona Lake, Ind. Coffee and light refreshments will be served in the Alumni Office, located on the upper concourse. Alumni and parent award winners will be honored during Homecoming Chapel, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the MOCC. At 2 p.m., alumni and friends can enjoy a bus tour of campus and Winona Lake guided by Dr. Terry White (BME 64).
All seminary graduates are invited to the Westminster Banquet Room for the Seminary Reunion and Award Dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Enjoy food and fellowship while the first group of Seminary Alumni Award winners are honored.
At 8 p.m. on Friday, alumni and friends are invited to enjoy an evening of music with Wes Hampton of the Gaither Vocal Band and inspirational singer Sherry Anne. The concert will take place in the Winona Heritage Room. A $15 ticket must be purchased to attend this event.
Morgan Library celebrates 50 years with a light brunch and brief program on Saturday at 9 a.m. At the same time, there will be a Lancer Athletic Hall of Fame Breakfast. The Homecoming Parade will take place at 11 a.m. The homecoming court, alumni award winners, and various student groups will lead the festivities. At noon, there will be a tailgate with food, face painting, a bounce house and more at the Miller Athletic Complex. At 1:30 p.m., cheer on the women’s soccer team as they take on Taylor University.
Class reunions for 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, 40, and 45+ years will take place throughout Saturday afternoon and evening. The weekend will conclude with the Coach Kessler Banquet, an evening to celebrate the career and retirement of Coach Jim Kessler.
