Grace College’s track and field team is tackling the 2021 NAIA National Championships this week.
Grace is sending a school-record 20 athletes to the meet, an impressive number in light of the NAIA’s stricter qualification terms this season because of COVID.
The meet is being held at the new First Dakota Fieldhouse on the campus of Mount Marty University.
DAY ONE – Grace sets school record at opener

The 4×800-meter relay team set a school record with a time of 9:42.92. Kaitlyn Mack, Heather Plastow, Makenzie Adams and Elizabeth Moore placed 12th in the field.
The 4×400 squad finished 13th. Nordia Campbell, Ashley Stoltzfus, Gracious O’Connor and Julia Malson ran a time of 4:04.70.
Campbell produced a PR of 25.49 seconds in the 200, finishing 11th in the preliminaries.
Heather Plastow posted a mile time of 5:10.78 in the prelims, earning a spot in Friday’s final.
“We had a solid first day with a school record and some PRs. The men take to the track on Thursday, so we’ll try to keep the momentum going,” said Grace head coach Jeff Raymond.
