Grace College and Seminary has again delayed the opening of Spring semester classes due to the severe winter weather. The announcement below has been posted on the Grace website. All students are encouraged to use discretion and caution regarding travel – even after the severe weather has passed. NO students should be traveling during a declared weather emergency.
Due to the ongoing weather emergency and restriction on travel, we are issuing this important update regarding the start of Spring semester classes.
No classes (day or evening) will meet today (Tuesday) on the Winona Lake campus. The Level 3 Travel Advisory for Kosciusko County restricting all unessential travel is still in affect through today and most campus offices are closed.
Undergraduate (college) classes will now begin Wednesday evening, January 8 at 5:00pm. This means all Tuesday day, Tuesday night, and Wednesday day classes are cancelled. Wednesday evening classes will meet as scheduled. We hope weather conditions will improve so students not already on campus may be able to travel back on Wednesday. Continue to use discretion and check local conditions where you are traveling.
Graduate (MA) classes will resume Wednesday morning, January 8 at 8:00am. Students who are not already in the area are encouraged to exercise caution in traveling and should communicate any challenges or concerns with their faculty.
Online classes are not affected by this and are on schedule. Weber students should consult with their site director if uncertain.
New students not already on campus are encouraged to move in on Wednesday or Thursday. All new students and transfers are asked to check in at the Student Affairs office in Indiana Hall between 8:00am and 5:00pm for important orientation information.
Residence Halls are open for students but no students should travel to or from the campus until the snow emergency is lifted by state and county officials. The GRC is also open for those students already on campus.
Tree of Life Bookstore will be open today from 10am – 8pm for students needing textbooks (or a hot cup of coffee). Normal hours resume tomorrow.
Food Service On Tuesday, Alpha dining will serve Lunch 12:00-1:30 p.m. and Dinner from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Subco/Jazzman’s will be open 9:00am – 11:00pm. Westminster Grille will open 6:00-11:00pm. Normal meal times at all locations will begin on Wednesday.
The Men’s Basketball game scheduled for this evening against Spring Arbor has been rescheduled to tomorrow (Wednesday) evening in the MOCC.
All students are again encouraged to use discretion and caution regarding travel – even after the severe weather has passed. NO students should be traveling during a declared weather emergency.
Further updates, cancellations, or delays will be communicated via email, social media, and the Grace website.
Thank you for your cooperation with these adjustments.
