Dr. David Plaster, in one of his final acts as an academic administrator at Grace College and Seminary, gave instructions to members of the class of 2007 at commencement rehearsal in the OCC arena this afternoon, Friday, May 4. Following graduation, Plaster will become senior pastor of the Grace Brethren Church of Columbus, Ohio.
The Saturday, May 5 commencement exercises for the class of 2007 at Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary is the first function to take place in the just-completed $9.1-million Orthopaedic Capital Center on the Grace campus.
With a record attendance at this year’s commencement, a total of 323 diplomas are being awarded by Grace College, Graduate School in Counseling and Interpersonal Relations, and Grace Theological Seminary.
Construction workers Friday put the final touches on the 60,000-square-foot OCC. The new facility will meet the needs not only of Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary for chapels, conferences, meetings, and indoor sports events, but also is designed for businesses and organizations that hold events with an audience of up to 2,800 people, such as business meetings and seminars; trade shows and exhibitions; musical events and concerts; and athletic events.
