The Grace College men’s basketball team sits on the precipice of the 1,000-win plateau. The Lancers (999-765 all-time) will aim for the historic milestone tonight (Tuesday) at 7 o’clock at Mt. Vernon (Ohio) Nazarene.

Grace will become the fourth Crossroads League team to reach 1,000 wins, joining Taylor, Huntington and Bethel. In addition, head coach Jim Kessler will continue his pursuit of 700 career coaching victories. He has amassed 690 wins so far in his Hall-of-Fame coaching career with Grace.
The Lancers are coming off a brutal stretch of NAIA Top-25 ranked opponents. Grace has played against five ranked opponents in the past six games, producing four upsets during that span. No. 14 St. Francis, No. 20 Marian and No. 24 Huntington have been knocked off by Grace in consecutive games.
After starting the Crossroads League season 0-5, Grace has recovered to 3-5 and now sits 1.5 games out of fourth place in the league standings. The Lancers have not lost to Mt. Vernon Nazarene in four games since the Cougars joined the Crossroads League in the 2011-12 season.
