The Olentangy Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will hold Freedom Night from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at Grace Church, 7600 Liberty Road in Powell.
“Freedom Night is based on the verse John 8:32 (from the Bible), ‘then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free,'” said Jared Mills a teacher and coach in the Olentangy school district. “Freedom Night’s goal is to bring middle school students together for fellowship and to develop a deep understanding of the importance of developing a relationship with Jesus Christ.”
Eighth-grader Clay Johnson from Liberty Middle School attended last year’s event.
“It was a great way to bring some of my friends there and show them God’s word, also while having fun at the same time,” Johnson wrote in an e-mail.
The evening’s activities include an American Idol type of contest, team games and activities, a barbecue, music, giveaways, prizes and guest speaker Scott Biddle from Dublin.
