Several presenters from Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana, will give a seminar at the upcoming annual conference of the Association of Christians in Student Development (ACSD), to be held on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, June 5-8.
Representing Grace’s Center for Character and Leadership Development (CCLD), the presenters will be Rob Knight (RD), Aaron Crabtree (RD), and E. Scott Feather (Director of the CCLD). The title of the seminar will be “Awakening the Ordinary to be Extraordinary” which fits the theme of the conference, “Ordinary People, Extraordinary Leadership.”
According to Feather, “Ordinary people can become extraordinary leaders when they are identified correctly, taught specifically, and led intentionally. This growth from ordinary to extraordinary is not accidental, but happens when God-given raw talent is given fertile soil to grow. This seminar provides a conceptual framework and concrete ideas with which to understand the dynamic world of character and leadership development.”
Main speakers at the event include former pastor and leadership guru John Maxwell; Bill Millard of the Indiana Wesleyan faculty; Ken Johnson, chaplain of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, and others. More information is available at http://www.indwes.edu/acsd/index.html .
This is the second such training opportunity for the CCLD in recent weeks. Scott Feather also taught a four-hour session with a group of 15 Philippine pastors and church leaders in early May at the Pasig Grace Brethren Church in Metro Manila in the Philippines.
