Grace Village Golf Outing Raises Over $15K In Sponsors
With careful attention to social distancing, Grace Village Retirement Community was able to continue tradition with their Remodel Health 11th Annual Golf Outing despite the COVID-19 pandemic, raising over $15,000 in sponsorships and $1,200 in-kind donations. Fifty businesses and individuals, led by title sponsor Remodel Health and major sponsors Woodlawn Hospital and Blue & Co., provided sponsorships, and 15 small local businesses donated door prizes for the event held June 29 at Stonehenge Golf Club.
“We were very excited to be able to have the golf outing again this year,” said Tammy Smith, Grace Village’s Director of Advancement. “This event has always been an important fundraiser for us, but this year it meant much more as it was a chance to be together with friends and supporters of Grace Village after a long time of being apart. There were a lot of logistics to keep everyone safe, but we were able to make it happen.” Funds raised by the golf outing will go toward remodeling the Assisted Living Dining Room in the Grace Village healthcare facility. The remodeled dining room will have height-adjustable tables, easy-to-move aluminum chairs, new vinyl flooring, and an area specifically designed for diners using mobility devices. “The upgrades will improve both the comfort and safety of our residents,” says Smith. With the golf outing proceeds, Grace Village has reached 40% of its fundraising goal for this project.
