Anna Jarvis Elementary School club aims at spreading Good News
Anna Jarvis Elementary is spreading “Good News” with an after school club.
The Good News Club started in October 2017, and since its introduction, the club has been spreading through the school with 70 students enrolled.
The club meets on Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:30 p.m., in the library at the school.
According to Co-Sponsoring Teachers Sonya Knotts and Duretha Mayle, the Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, homes, community centers, churches or anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. …
The club is hosted by Beulah Baptist Church. Pastor David Bess attends the school weekly to provide counseling and students can ask for prayer requests, as well.
Knotts shared that volunteers from New Testament Fellowship Church, The Church of the Good Shepherd and First Grace Brethren attend each week to help and provide snacks.
