In Ephesians 4:17-19 we learn that man apart from Christ is futile in their thinking, darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God… But by God’s grace believers (Christians), those who have placed their faith and trust in Christ alone have not so learned Christ (Ephesians 4:20). And by God’s grace we know His truth and we have been delivered from the old way of life. In Christ, our minds are being renewed and our lives are being transformed.
It is our privilege to be a part of God’s transformative work in New England. In the New England culture being a born-again Christian is often suspect. I’ve been reminded twice this past week that conversation about Jesus makes people quite uncomfortable.
One such occasion was on Saturday, June 24. We participated in a community event in Danvers (see pictures). Our booth offered free face painting for the children, along with free Bibles and other literature that presented the Gospel and told people about North Shore Bible Church. I was watching one of our ladies talking with a mom and grandmom. The conversation was going quite smoothly until it turned to Jesus and church and the mother literally backed away from the lady from the church. Praise God many good conversations were held that day and much literature was distributed.
We need your help as we continue to minister to this portion of God’s mission field. There are many worthy organizations seeking financial help. I would ask you to prayerfully consider Grow New England among those organizations. The cost of living and doing ministry in this region is quite expensive. And the need is great. Less than 4% of New Englanders will be in an evangelical church tomorrow morning.
If you do choose to give, checks should be made payable to Grow New England and sent to Grow New England, c/o North Shore Bible Church at 65 Eastern Avenue Essex MA 01929. If you would prefer you can also make donations on our website.
Pray for a larger, more centrally located meeting space for our Danvers church. Pray for a young man who would come to pastor our Danvers church so that we can begin to consider where our next church will be planted. We are looking forward to a ministry team joining us in August from the Grace Church in Ashland Ohio. Pray for our upcoming outreach events through the month of July and August. — from the July Grow New England newsletter
