Two members of Grace College’s baseball team were recognized for their excellence in the classroom.
David Anderson and Houston Haney were both honored as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes. To achieve that status, student-athletes must reach upperclassman status and have a GPA of at least 3.40.
Additionally, Anderson picked up an individual honor when he was named to the CoSIDA All-District Team. CoSIDA recognizes student-athletes for both academic and athletic achievements.
Anderson, who graduated this month, finished his career ranked No. 6 all-time in career batting average (.343) and No. 9 in career strikeouts (130).
Haney posted a 3.46 ERA in the COVID-shortened 2020 season. He had 22 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched. The junior also batted .294 from the plate. – from gclancers.com
