Funeral services for Harold G. Jones, 88, pastor emeritus of Penn Valley Grace Brethren Church, Telford, Pa., will be held at a later date. He died Monday, July 22, at the Souderton Mennonite Home, Souderton, Pa.
Born Aug. 25, 1924, to Ralph and Emma Jones of Hatfield, Pa., he was the second son of six children, Ralph Jones, Mary Burns, Betty Landis, Peggy Schwartz and Stanley Jones.
He married Fern Price Nace in 1946 and attended Juniata College.
He was inducted into the ministry at Indian Creek Church of the Brethren in 1948.
He was employed at Longacre Poultry, Franconia Pa., for 50 years in various positions , and served as pastor at the Mingo Church of the Brethren in Royersford, Pa., from 1961 to 1968 and pastor of Visitation at Penn Valley Grace Brethren Church in Telford, Pa.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Fern and their five children, Stephen and Debby Jones, William and Karen Petrauskas, Michael and Marianne Jones, John and Jennifer Raffetto, Timothy Jones; and eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Harold served as a conscientious objector during World War II working on a cattle boat traveling to Poland. He loved music and enjoyed singing in quartets in each of the congregations he served. Harold was a loving husband and father whose passion was continuing the work of Jesus in his personal and professional life and showing the love of his Jesus to his family and friends and community.
