It started as part of the seniors’ ministry. A few weeks ago, the Health Fair at the Grace Brethren Church in Wooster, Ohio, opens its doors to the public. A story in today’s Wooster Daily Record tells the story. A portion appears below. Click here to read the complete story.
WOOSTER’S GRACE BRETHREN HEALTH FAIR HIGHLIGHTS LOCAL ASSETS

WOOSTER — The Grace Brethren Church’s health fair is just one way the north end church found it could reach out to the community, as health care in all its forms has become pushed even more into the forefront of the minds of average citizens.
“This originally started out as a part of our seniors ministry,” said Chet Martin, one of the organizers of the fair. “We wanted a way to reach out into the community and something people are interested in that could be a benefit. … We didn’t want to have just an event for older people.”
The health fair on March 23 saw a variety of local vendors across the industry reach out to people. Companies specializing in chiropractic work, massage therapy, ear doctors and even Wooster Community Hospital attended. Roughly 50 booths were set up, Martin noted, as the event has steadily grown in its seventh installment.
“We try to get a cross section of the health community and what’s available locally,” he added.
