Two women at Grace College, Erica Powell and Lydia Scoles, have been named to receive Honor Her Scholarships for short-term missions. The scholarships are presented annually by Women of Grace USA.
Erica Powell, a junior, used her funds to participate in a Go Grace Team to Paris, France, in March. A native of Akron, Ohio, she ultimately plans to study law and work in the area of international justice to help the oppressed and help rescue those who are enslaved. While at school, she attends New Horizon Community Church, a Grace Brethren church in Winona Lake, Ind.
Lydia Scoles, also a junior, will participate in an in-ternship in London, England, this fall. The daughter of Pastor Todd and Linda Scoles, she is a member of the Grace Brethren Church, Marysville, Ohio. An Intercultural Studies major, she looks forward to ex-ploring options for the future. “I have a desire to serve in overseas missions in my future,” she says. “God has gifted me with a love and aptitude for other cultures.”
These scholarships are made possible through the gifts of women in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches who wish to honor women whose lives have demonstrated a love for the Lord, faithfulness in serving Him, and a heart for spreading the Gospel to every corner of the world through praying, giving, and going.
