In a video announcement this morning sent to members and others in the Charis Fellowship, Mark Lingenfelter, president of the Association of Grace Brethren Ministers, revealed a new name and logo for the national network of pastors in the Charis Fellowship.
“For almost 125 years a professional organization has existed for pastors in our movement of churches,” he said. “The name has changed a few times throughout those years, but our commitment to encourage and equip pastors for ministry has remained at the heart of why we exist.”
The new name is: INSPIRE – Charis Pastors Network.
“At its core, the word INSPIRE means to ‘instill in someone the motivation, enthusiasm and courage to do better things and achieve more,’” Lingenfelter said.
He noted that using the word Inspire is intended to help remind members to not only receive encouragement from the organization’s leadership and regional shepherds, but to inspire and encourage one another as they serve together to honor God.
“The word inspire is also a commitment to provide the very best tools possible to help equip pastors as they lead and train others for ministry,” he added.
The name change comes on the heels of a new DBA, or doing business as, name for the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. The Charis Fellowship name was announced in November 2017.
“We knew we had an opportunity to choose a new name that would help capture not only who we are as pastors connected to the Charis Fellowship, but also what we are about as an organization,” concluded Lingenfelter, who serves as pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Duncansville, Pa.
