Jack Brown, pastor of North Shore Bible Church, a Grace Brethren congregation in Essex, Mass., is excited about church planting possibilities in the Boston area and beyond. He recently shared news of church planting efforts in the region.
We are working on plans for some exciting transitions over the next six-24 months that we believe will compel our church planting ministry in New England. On March 28, 2013, our name was officially changed from Grace Brethren New England to Grow New England.
GROW New England is a grass-roots church planting organization that will seek to recruit and train church planters and raise funds to plant churches in New England. We are currently concentrating our efforts on Boston’s north shore.
Grow New England’s purpose is to enlist, educate, and equip church planters to establish Grace Brethren churches on Boston’s North Shore and throughout New England.
We are looking forward to being represented at the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches National Conference (Vision 2020 South) in Atlanta. I hope you’ll stop by and see me and learn more about what we’re doing.
Also, I would love to visit your church this fall or in 2014 to share our vision for New England and seek partnership in our church planting efforts here in greater Boston and beyond.
Would you pray specifically for the following items?
- We are seeking to formulate a board of directors for GROW New England. Pray that God would bring a group together that will be used to catapult this ministry into the future. If you know someone who might be a good candidate for this role, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
- We are seeking to expand the vision for New England amongst the evangelical church and specifically amongst the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches.
- We are seeking two young men who might consider coming to New England to intern with a vision for planting churches.
- We are seeking a property for our current church back in the city of Gloucester.
