John Armstrong, a long-time member of Grace Church, Wooster, Ohio (Bob Fetterhoff, pastor), has died. He also served as a trustee at Grace College and Seminary, Winona Lake, Ind., for 30 years. His obituary appears below.
John R. Armstrong, 87, of Wooster, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grace Church with Pastor Robert D. Fetterhoff officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held.

John was born Dec. 9, 1926 in Wooster, Ohio to Raymond and Marjorie (Houmard) Armstrong.
John married Gloria Ann Walters on October 30, 1948 at First Brethren Church in Rittman. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army following the Korean War.
John was a self-employed farmer and meat processor. He was a member of the Wooster Grace Church for 67 years. He served as trustee for 30 years for Grace College and Theological Seminary.
John will be deeply missed by his wife, Gloria; children, Dan (Jayne) Armstrong of Shreve and David Armstrong of Wadsworth; granddaughter Tiffany Armstrong; brother Dick (Annabel) Armstrong of Wooster; sister Betty (Lloyd) Ulrich of Wooster.
John was so grateful for the love and prayers by friends and family and for the loving care provided by LifeCare Hospice.
