This emergency prayer request has just come in from Pastor Paul Mutchler of the Lanham, Maryland, Grace Brethren Church:
Our LCS seniors were involved in a terrible head-on collision this evening about 6:05 pm in the Orlando, FL area. On the fourth day of their senior trip, all of our people survived, but drivers of two other cars were killed (the original driver who crossed the median and the first car he hit…then he hit our first van head-on).
The police report is that the original driver was going over 100 miles per hour! Students and the parent driver of our van, Mrs. Veronica Coleman, are in process of being taken to area hospitals, or, for those not injured in our second van, back to their hotel.
There are multiple injuries, most at this time not life-threatening. Regarding our own GBC students…Kimberly Burr…not injured…in second van; Aaron Harten…injured from seat belt; Megan Matthews…injured…unknown.
We are grateful for God’s sovereignty in our personnel traveling with the seniors…Mrs. Vesta Settles is a registered nurse, and Pastor Tony and Mrs. Earline Lee, as well as Mrs. Coleman. Pastor Lee has been in constant contact with Mr. Pinkard, Mr. Burr, and myself.
Pray for all our students…those in the second van witnessed the crash, and the second van was damaged by debris from the other three vehicles.
These are the people that were in our first van:
Mrs. Veronica Coleman
Jason Coleman
Aaron Harten
Megan Mathews
Christine Singh
Kyle Schwarm
Thank you for praying…I will give you more info when we have it. Pastor Paul
