Pastor Jason Carmean of the Lexington, Ohio, Grace Brethren Church reports, “On Sunday, April 22, about 50 of our people washed 75 cars, filled the windshield wiper fluid, and checked tire pressure. From 1-4 pm, we had a gas buy down where we paid for 10 cents of every gallon of gas that was bought.
“Our people stood at the pumps greeting people as they pulled in. Most of them let us pump their gas and wash their windshields. The station sold 950 gallons of gas in that time, so it only cost us $95 to do it.
“We also sent 70 invitations to single moms in the government subsidized apartment complexes in town offering a free oil change. Only two responded, but it was a neat time.
“The local television station covered part of the event.” The link to television story is below. http://www.northcentralohio.com/newsboard/single.asp?Story=27429
