The 10th-annual Northern Indiana Lakes Festival is scheduled for Friday-Sunday, May 25-27, Memorial Day Weekend, at Center Lake Park in Warsaw, Ind. The celebratory weekend is filled with free, family-friendly activities. Featured events include two live concerts, Silly Safari with Coyote Chris, a performance by Lake City Skiers and many more.
“We’re excited for the whole weekend,” said Dugan Julian, event coordinator at the Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams. “Plan to attend as many events as you can, but you definitely won’t want to miss the fireworks on Saturday night!” This special display will be synced to music and will rival traditional Fourth of July firework shows. A full events schedule is available at lakesfestival.org.
New this year, the Lakes Festival is collaborating with the Lake Games. “Partnering with the Lakes Festival was a natural fit for the Lake Games,” said Erica Elliot, co-director of the Lake Games. “Being a part of the Lakes Festival expands the opportunity for area residents and visitors to not only enjoy a full weekend of educational and fun activities but also participate in a variety of athletic events,” Elliot added. The Lake Games seeks to bring premier sporting events to Kosciusko County. Competition highlights include a volleyball tournament, 5K run, and kayak and canoe races. Visit lakegames.org for more information and to register for these events.
Top-level sponsors for the 2018 celebration include Kosciusko County Visitors Commission, Silveus Insurance Group, Zimmer Biomet, Depuy Synthes, Maple Leaf Farms, KREMC Operation: Round-Up, Mad Bomber Fireworks, City of Warsaw Parks and Recreation, Sodexo, 212 Media Studios and Kosciusko Community Hospital.
