Mark Abel, executive director of Skywatchers (formerly known as Grace Brethren Boys) and pastor of Southview Grace Brethren Church, Ashland, Ohio, will be the speaker at the upcoming annual Game Supper at the Meyersdale, Pa., Grace Brethren Church (Randy Haulk, pastor). Meyersdale Grace Brethren game supper
Mark Abel, an Ohio pastor and passionate duck hunter, will speak at the annual Game Supper at the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church to be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The dinner will be in the church’s youth and activities building located at the rear of the church, 112 Beachley St., Meyersdale.
The supper is open to the public and free, although a free-will offering will be taken to help defray expenses. Reservation are required and the deadline is Jan. 18 and can be made by calling 814-634-5980. The menu will include a wide variety of donated wild game and in addition to other meats. Several door prizes will be awarded.
Pastor Abel lives in Ashland, Ohio, where he has been in ministry at Southview Grace Brethren Church for 19 years. He has served as youth pastor, and currently as senior pastor. He has been married to his wife Jessica for 20 years and they have three children, Esther, Ruth and Mark.
Pastor Abel was raised in a rural area and has always loved the outdoors. He believes that God has allowed that to help shape him as a person, and that much can be learned by spending time in God’s creation. Although he is most passionate about water fowl hunting, he enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, including turkey hunting, bass fishing, bow hunting and outdoor photography.
