“I just can’t find anything wrong [with Momentum Youth Conference], says Katie, a 12-year-old from Rochester, Ill., when asked about what she likes best about the week. Momentum is currently being held at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky. It concludes Saturday night following a day of outreach into the areas surrounding this east-central Kentucky city.
The week has inspired Katie to put more time into her music when she returns home. “I want to go into a music ministry when I grow up,” she stresses. She currently plays the clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone, but she says, “I want to play every woodwind instrument.”
Her friend, Selena, 13, has also enjoyed the music this week. Her favorite part has been the worship time led by Christian artist Aaron Keyes.
She says that when she returns home, she wants to read her Bible more, stay in the Word, and share her faith with her friends.
This is the first time both girls have attended the conference. They came with their youth sponsors, Hank Collins and Jo Warner, at the recommendation of their youth pastor at South Fork Church of Christ in their central Illinois community.
