Many are aware that Nancy Peugh, wife of Roger Peugh (former GBIM missionary to Germany, now faculty member at Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana), was stricken with a heart attack over the weekend and has been receiving treatment in a Fort Wayne hospital.
Here is the latest update from Roger, along with his thanks for the many prayers of God’s people for the Peughs. Cards and best wishes may be sent to Nancy at 401 Wood Street, Winona Lake, IN 46590
THANKS to the many of you who knew and were praying for
Nancy and the doctors and nurses today as her heart
procedure was done.
The doctor said the catheterization showed a 99 percent blockage in a
main artery of the heart. He was able to put a stent into that spot
and open it up again. Just beyond that location are two other
areas – with 50 percent blockage. He wants to get her bad cholesterol
levels down with diet and medication so that another stent is not
necessary.
She has had “bad” cholesterol values well within the
safe range for an average person, but obviously she has a
hereditary problem, meaning that average good levels are too high
for her body chemistry.
WE ARE VERY ENCOURAGED.
She responded well to all treatments and they plan to release her
by about 1 pm tomorrow, if all goes well tonight. She will take a
stress test in about a month to determine if there are any changes.
We both are so very thankful for the GRACE of our God
and the part all of you contributed to what God did, because
you asked Him to help.
Many of you have sent notes – telling of your prayer support, and also your shock. We were also shocked, since she has been very careful about her health through the years. THANKS for your notes – and thanks to all of you who prayed and were unable to write.
