Access2018, the national conference of the Charis Fellowship (Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, Inc.) is headed back to Fremont, Ohio. Just as in 2017, Grace Community Church (Kevin Pinkerton, pastor) will host the conference. Dates for the 2018 event are July 24-26.
“Attendance for Access2017 was 30 percent higher than Margins2016,” said Tom Avey, Charis Fellowship coordinator whose office plans the event. “We are praying for a similar increase for Access2018. Grace Community Church has the facility that can support such growth.”
He also noted that Grace Community Church demonstrated “amazing hospitality” towards Access2017 attenders.
“Pastor Kevin Pinkerton and his staff provided excellent help in many areas of the conference program,” he said. “Pastor Keith Minier (conference director) asked Grace Community if they would be willing to host Access2018 and they graciously agreed.”
Avey noted that feedback from Access2017 was positive and many ideas for improvement were suggested. “We look forward to doing an even better job of creating ministry access at Access2018,” he added. Access2018 will again feature cohorts to provide ministry leaders access to one another.
“The best asset of Charis Fellowship is it’s ministry leaders,” stressed Avey. “We firmly believe that we can best serve our churches by bringing ministry practitioners together to share best practices and interact around real ministry needs. We have already learned of ministry leaders who shared contact information at Access2017 and connected after the conference.”
