Aaron Scantlen, church planter/pastor of Empty Hands Bible Church in Winona Lake, Ind., reports his first baptism — for the church and for himself as a pastor.
“Javares Cooks accepted Christ this April after one of our Core Team members shared the gospel with him,” Pastor Aaron reports. “And due to his public testimony, three more came to me afterwards and said that they also want to get baptized!”
The church began meeting just five weeks ago as an outreach of the Winona Lake, Ind., Grace Brethren Church (Bruce Barlow, lead pastor). This last Saturday, there were 50 people in attendance. Designed to be a multi-cultural congregation, services are held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. They meet in the Hub, the youth and community center of the Winona Lake church.
