Beloved Pastor Dies Following Ski Accident
BURKE — A skiing accident at Burke Mountain on Thursday led to the death of the Rev. R. John Snow, the associate pastor of the Union Baptist Church in Waterford and the former interim minister at the Lyndon Center Baptist Church. He was an avid snowmobiler and skier, and a resident of Burke.
Pastor Whitey Willard of the Lititz church has provided the following information:
John was skiing along and evidently there was a white-out that caused him to veer off the trail. He hit a tree, resulting in severe head and internal injuries, including a ruptured aorta. He was found by the ski patrol; it took them an hour to get him off the mountain; he was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to another hospital, but died there.
