Several weeks ago, CE National featured reports from parents of students that went on Operation Barnabas (OB) 2019 and how it has impacted the student and their families since the summer. Here are a few more of the comments that parents are sharing about the Operation Barnabas program and what is has meant to them:
It can be scary as a parent to send your child far from home for several weeks with people you don’t really know and it’s a big investment of both time and finances. But, as the parent of two girls who have been on OB, the money invested was so well worth all they learned and were able to do that they just can’t get anywhere else in such a concentrated way. My one child did a complete 180 in attitude to us as parents and her behavior at home. Her leaders continue to stay in touch with her, and I sense she has made many long-lasting friendships with her teammates.
This was a wonderful experience for our son. He has become more outgoing and willing to take initiative to engage in conversation with others. He is quicker to help with work at home We are thankful for good maturing and ongoing depth in his relationship with the Lord.
Thank you for all you do. Our daughter loved it all. It was a very positive experience for her and opened her eyes to inner-city life. It is great for these students to be a part of a team, working together and being challenged. It was also good for her to push herself and be out of her comfort zone. She is much more prone to share words of encouragement and has gained much confidence. We are so grateful she had this opportunity.
Now is the best time for students to start the application process for OB 2020! Students who apply by the early deadline of November 20, 2019, have the best chance of getting their team preference.
