Pastor Roy Glass has called to our attention the homegoing of a longtime member of the Grace Brethren ministerium. Roy notes that Percy Miller pastored at West Alexandria Grace Brethren Church for a long time and he was the father of Clair Miller, general manager at WFCJ radio.
MILLER, Percy C. age 91, of Eaton, OH and formerly of New Lebanon, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, May 31, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton following a short illness.
Born July 23, 1914 in Brush Valley Twp., PA to the late Harry T. & Edna C. (Campbell) Miller. Mr. Miller served the Lord as a pastor in the Brethren Church for 51 years. He began his pastoral ministry serving the Berlin, Vandergrift and Brush Valley, PA Brethren Churches. He later served the Hillcrest Brethren Church in Dayton for 10 years; the Calvary Grace Brethren Church in Kettering for 4 years; and the Glenwood Grace Brethren Church in Preble County for 15 years.
Additionally, he taught school for many years in PA and Dayton, Ohio.
Rev. Miller was the founding member and first president of the New Lebanon Chamber of Commerce and was a former member of the New Lebanon Rotary Club. He was a member of the Brethren Church in New Lebanon and in his later years attended the Eaton Baptist Temple.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Rosalle E. (Stutzman) in 1993: sister Marie Turley: and brothers Dwight, Lisle, Dee and Noble Miller. Survived by sons Clair Miller & wife Margy of West Carrollton, OH; and Earl Stutzman-Miller of Orlando, FL: grandson Bill & wife Pam of Miamisburg: and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Eaton Baptist Temple – 416 E. Decatur St. – Eaton, OH. Pastors Lowell T. Spencer and William Walk presiding.
Friends may call on the family from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens – 3377 US Rt. 35 – West Alexandria, OH.
