Tomorrow, Sunday, May 7, will be the annual annual “Police Appreciation Sunday” events at the Grace Brethren Church of York, PA, Dan White, pastor.
Pastor Dan indicates that the church has heard a variety of verbal commitments to be in attendance on the part of the officers of the local police department.
White says, “We have a desire that the Lord be lifted up through the actions of this local church and in the hearts of those who attend, many of whom have some sort of religious connection in the past, but are not trusting in the Lord Jesus to save them from their sin.
“We will be giving a gift of various things to our department that a financially-strapped organization needs ‘just to do the job (not that we are rolling in the dough!). We will be providing a light lunch and time of fellowship for them with our people in the hopes that that will be an encouragement to them and remind our church to pray for them throughout the year.”
Pastor White’s morning message will be “The Codes: Can I Keep Them All?” through the hope given in Col 2:13-15 which indicates that Jesus Christ met them all for us and all the charges against us were cared for by Him on the cross. So, if we place my trust in Him as our Sin-bearer we have hope for eternal life.
He asks, “Do pray for us and what God will do in our midst on this special day!”
