Several days after Christmas Pastor David Mitchell of the Waipio Grace Brethren Church in Mililani, Hawaii, informed friends and close acquaintances that his wife, Betty Lou, had been diagnosed with a tumor between the layers that surround and cover the brain on her left side. He said:
“The technical term for this condition is ‘a convex meningioma pressing on the parietal lobe.’ The tumor is most likely benign and while it is not attached to the brain it is fairly large and pressing on part of the brain that deals with balance and motor skills. Lately her balance has been affected as well as some other symptoms.
We meet with a neurosurgeon next week because surgery will be necessary. A special prayer concern is that because Betty Lou is allergic to almost all antibiotics, the operation will be somewhat more risky.”
His update today says:
“Monday she goes in for another MRI; Tuesday a procedure that will stop the blood flow to the tumor; Wednesday she will be operated on around 7:30 am.
For a time her speech may be affected and strength on the right side. We still will not know if it is cancer until they see the tumor but 85 percent of these tumors are not cancerous.
Today I went to my doctor at the VA and when she heard about this she stopped and
said “We must pray” and we joined hands and prayed. How precious it is for a doctor to do that even if it is not the doctor associated with the situation.
Thank you again for the many prayers from different parts of the world. I have tried to share with some unbelievers the peace God gives when we put our trust and our lives in His hands. Please add this to your prayers. I will send a report as soon as this is over and recovery is in place.”

It was no challenge for our God in that He gave the surgeon whatever was necessary to successfully complete the task. He said it went so well that he knew there was a higher power then himself in that room. We are praying that someday he will know who that really is....Thank you again and God bless..
