This prayer request comes today from Mark Penfold, chaplain endorsing agent for the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches.
U.S. Army chaplain Pete Stone just signed into his new unit at Ft Belvoir, Va., when he had to take emergency leave. Pete’s father, John Stone, a retired pastor with 40 years ministry (not GBC) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a little over 2 years ago. There is nothing more that doctors can do as Pastor Stone is now receiving hospice care. In addition, Pete’s mother was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in April 2017. The family is present for both his parents at this time.
Pray for Pete, his wife Monica and their two-year-old son as they go through this “valley of the shadow of death” with Pete’s parents and family.
Never forget that those who serve our nation’s warriors as their chaplains also face deeply personal battles.
